What a WONderful first concert for Camano Chamber Music! It was a full room that saw and heard this dynamic string quartet in a program filled with favorites, including classical, jazz, and showtunes, where musicians brough their extensive professional chops from many symphony’s, ballet groups, and chamber ensembles.
Quinn Price is a violinist based in Tacoma, Washington. Originally from Ellensburg, he relocated to the Pacific Northwest after playing as a member of the Richmond Symphony in Virginia. He currently serves as Principal Second Violin of Northwest Sinfonietta, Assistant Principal Second of the Yakima Symphony, and is a second violinist with Symphony Tacoma. He holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Texas at Austin.
Ingrid Fredrickson received her degrees in music and education from the University of Washington, where she studied violin with Emanuel Zetlin and Denes Zsigmondy. After graduation she traveled to Norway where she played as a member of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Returning to Seattle, she joined the Northwest Chamber Orchestra where she played principal second violin for many years. Currently, Ingrid plays principal second violin with the Auburn Symphony, and is a member of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. Ingrid is an avid chamber musician, having performed on many series in the Pacific Northwest. A highlight of her career was performing as a member of a string quartet playing in China and Europe. She enjoys her work as a coach and violin teacher.
Betty Agent is Principal Violist of the Auburn Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Principal Violist of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and also appears regularly on the Auburn Symphony Chamber Music Series. She is an active freelancer in the greater Seattle area, including recording work, and has maintained a private viola teaching at her home for many years. Betty is also an avid bird watcher, although still a beginner. And she loves to travel.
Brian Wharton performs with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Principal cello with the Auburn Symphony and has appeared with the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera. He is passionate about chamber music, music education, and teaching. His love of chamber music has led him to create the Auburn Symphony Chamber Series. Brian has been featured as a soloist with the Auburn Symphony, Spokane Symphony, Olympia Chamber Orchestra, and the Tacoma Youth Symphony. His musical interests are varied with experience playing for the 5th Avenue Theater, motion picture sound tracks, video games, as well as back up for artists such as Josh Groban, Smokey Robinson, and Mannheim Steamroller. Brian earned music degrees from Western Washington University Studying with Walter Gray, and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music studying with Yehuda Hanani. He has held fellowships at the Congress of Strings and the Aspen Music Festival. He enjoys fishing, camping, and hiking around the Pacific Northwest.
