Linda Younce ~ Lisa Hirayama ~ Lisa Hedley
LINDA YOUNCE is the owner of Small Chambers, a music business for composing/arranging/licensing, private instruction, and live performances. Her flute experiences include a masterclass with Louis Moyse, in a group workshop with his father Marcel Moyse, and a masterclass with Paula Robinson. For her compositions, she has won the Nell Shipman Award for filmscoring, and multiple Parent Choice Awards for her work as Let Your Music Shine! with her twin sister Lisa Grace. Linda is currently living on Camano Island where she is also enjoying her newly added musical endeavor “Island Affogato”, café accordion music.
LISA HIRAYAMA studied the flute in Boston with Seta Der Hohannesian and at Oberlin College with Judith Bentley. She currently plays with the Lake Union Civic Orchestra and the Octava Chamber Orchestra, as well as subbing regularly with other local ensembles. In "real life", Lisa is employed in Graduate Admissions at Seattle University where she is an admissions counselor for international students.
LISA HEDLEY teaches private flute lessons in the Woodinville/Redmond area. She has studied flute with Cheryl Fogg in Seattle and with He Shengqi at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She currently plays with the Puget Chamber Winds and the Eastside Symphony, and she regularly plays at her church in Kirkland. Lisa's interest in collecting the different sizes of flutes began with her first flute lesson at age 10. She enjoys broadening people's awareness about the many unique flutes that make up the flute family.
Linda, Lisa, and Lisa first got together in 2009 after meeting through performances with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra Tiny Tots programs. The Elle Flute Trio quickly took shape and they began performing frequently throughout the Pacific Northwest. With their extensive flute collection and skills for arranging music, they perform not only standard flute trio repertoire, but they feature their own arrangements of classical works that showcase the many different sounds of the flute family.
Enjoy the delightful Elle Flute Trio, and their many sizes of flutes! And as diverse as the flutes is the music in this program. Flutists Lisa Hedley, Lisa Hirayama, and Linda Younce will be covering the Globe with music from Ireland, Japan, Germany, France, and a multitude of musical styles.
